Voters must be registered in Cuyahoga County in order to vote in any election. In order to vote in Cuyahoga County, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be a United States Citizen;
  • You must be at least 18 years old on the day of the General Election;
  • You must be a resident of Ohio for at least 30 days;
  • You must register to vote at least 30 days before an election to be eligible to vote.
  • 17 year old residents can register and vote in a Primary Election if they will be 18 on or before the General Election. 17-year-olds can vote for candidates only.
 
Registration Deadlines:

You must register to vote or update your voter registration no later than 30 days prior to an election. Upcoming voter registration deadlines:

October 7, 2018 for the November 6, 2018 Election. 
 
 
How do I register OR update my registration?

  • If your information is not current in our database, complete this Voter Registration Form , print it, sign (must have the original signature) and mail it to the Board of Elections - 2925 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. 
  • You can update your Ohio voting address electronically on the Secretary of State Website "Click to Continue Online"
  • To print blank registration form "Click here
  • Call the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections at 216-443-3298 for a Voter Registration Card to be mailed to you. Complete it and mail it back.
  • You may register at one of the following locations in your city:
         Broadview Heights Residents:

9/22/2018      UOCAVA absentee ballots to be mailed

10/9/2018      Close of Registration

10/10/2018    Opening of Vote by Mail (Absentee) voting

11/3/2018     12:00 noon - Deadline for applications by mail for an absentee ballot to be mailed

11/5/2018     Voting in person at the Board of Elections ends

11/5/2018     All Vote by Mail / Absentee ballots mailed anywhere in the U.S. must be postmarked on or before this date and received at the Board of Elections on or before 5/12/2017 in order to be counted

11/6/2018      All overseas Vote by Mail ballots must be signed and submitted for mailing by 12:01 AM EDT on or before this date and received on or before 5/12/2017 in order to be counted.

11/6/2018      6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Election Day - Provisional voting at the Board of Elections

11/6/2018      All Vote by Mail / Absentee ballots returned in person must be received at the Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m. in order to be counted.
